Why is Lexroom divided into modules?

  • Output quality. In the legal field, “a right answer” depends a lot on the context (branch of law, application practice, competent authority, technical lexicon,...). Each module uses one dataset per domain, so the model consults only relevant sources and reduces irrelevant outputs, interpretative conflicts and off-topic references.
  • Technical requirements. Modularization makes indexing, information retrieval more effective, simplifies targeted updates and allows quality control by area.
  • Practical completeness. Each module includes not only legislation and case law, but also industry practices and sources from the competent authorities (guidelines, circulars, provisions, orientations, etc.). This is essential because, in practical practice, many decisions and approaches depend on application practices and interpretations, not just the abstract law.

How can I install the Lexroom Add In Word on my device?

  • Open a Word document, go to the Home tab and click on the Add-ons button to access the store.
  • Select 'Other add-ons'. Search for 'Lexroom' and click the Add button to start the installation.
  • The installation is complete. The Lexroom add-in icon is now visible on your toolbar. Click to open the side panel, log in to your account and get started.

What is the discriminating factor between modules?

The discriminant is not only 'subject' in the school sense, but above all:

  • Relevant datasets and sources. Each module corresponds to a set of typical sources (regulations + case law + practice + industry authorities).
  • Authority and application practice. The organisms/authorities “that matter” and the type of documents (e.g. regulatory practice, guidelines, measures, interpretations) change.
  • Language and use cases. Each domain has a vocabulary and recurring patterns (acts, opinions, clauses, litigation, obligations) that benefit from a dedicated perimeter.Risk of ambiguity between domains
  • Risk of cross-domain ambiguity. Some cross-domain questions (e.g., corporate + tax + labor) when treated in a single context increase the likelihood of confusing output. Forms reduce this ambiguity, or manage it by guiding the user through context.

How can Lexroom help me with contracts?

Lexroom can support you on contracts in 4 practical ways (based on the functions described in the FAQs).

  • “Targeted” research on contractual clauses and issues (with sources). You can ask questions in natural language about a clause or an interpretative problem and get an answer based on legislation, case law and practice with specific citations and links to sources to verify immediately.
  • Generate custom clauses. There's a custom clause feature that transforms your instructions into technical legal language, while maintaining complete control of the text (you can refine word by word).
  • Review/analysis of your contracts (and clause comparison) with “Private Library”. You can upload contracts (yours or those of the other party) to the Private Library and: a) question them, b) compare clauses, c) summarize complex attached documents, d) obtain answers based solely on your data, in a private/segregated environment.
  • Drafts and guided iteration (drafting + revisions)

In the Drafting of Acts function, you can obtain a draft and then ask for changes/additions to iterate over the text.

Examples of “contract” tasks that you can let us do (ready to copy)

  • “Analyze this withdrawal clause and tell me risks/ambiguities, proposing 2 alternatives that are more protective for the customer.”
  • Generate a liability limitation clause with these conditions:... (sector, amounts, exclusions, zip code).
  • Compare the confidentiality clause of contract A with our standard (uploaded to the Private Library) and report critical differences.
  • “Summary the contract’s obligations, deadlines, and penalties in a table (obligation | party | deadline | risk).”

How can I communicate the different Lexroom features?

Lexroom works like an integrated workflow: you can switch from Research to Drafting acts and vice versa, depending on the way you work. Basically, you have two main paths:

1) Research → Drafting. Use this when you want to first clarify the setting and references (legislation, case law and practice) and then write the draft; or

2) Drafting → Analysis. Use this when you prefer to immediately create a first version of the act and then ask Lexroom for a detailed analysis to highlight discovered points, risks, inconsistencies and areas to strengthen.
